Objective

Content

Day 1: Introduction to Foundations for Equipment, Tanks, and Pipe Supports

• Overview of foundation types and their applications in industrial projects
• Importance of proper foundation design for tanks, equipment, and pipe supports
• Key considerations in foundation construction: Soil conditions, load-bearing capacity, and environmental factors
• Overview of tank, equipment, and pipe support requirements in foundation design
• Introduction to load analysis and structural requirements

Day 2: Soil Analysis and Foundation Design

• Understanding soil types and their impact on foundation stability
• Methods for soil testing and analysis: Bearing capacity, settlement, and compaction tests
• Types of foundations: Shallow foundations, deep foundations, and pile foundations
• Foundation design principles based on load distribution and soil characteristics
• Foundation reinforcement methods: Concrete, steel reinforcements, and other materials

Day 3: Tank and Equipment Foundations Construction Techniques

• Design and construction of tank foundations: Key considerations for cylindrical and spherical tanks
• Techniques for constructing reinforced concrete foundations for heavy equipment
• Using pile foundations for large or heavy tanks and equipment
• Pre-cast and cast-in-place foundation techniques
• Material selection and quality control in tank and equipment foundation construction

Day 4: Pipe Supports and Their Foundation Requirements

• Types of pipe supports: Fixed, sliding, and spring supports
• Foundation design for pipe supports: Load distribution and spacing considerations
• Construction techniques for pipe support foundations: Concrete and steel support systems
• Integration of pipe supports with tank and equipment foundations

Day 5: Installation, Maintenance, and Best Practices

• Installation techniques for tank, equipment, and pipe support foundations
• Safety practices during construction: Site preparation, equipment handling, and structural integrity
• Maintenance and inspection of tank, equipment, and pipe support foundations
• Addressing common issues in foundation construction: Settlement, cracks, and water infiltration

NOTE:

Pre-& Post Tests will be conducted.

Case Studies, Group Exercises, Group Discussions, Last Day reviews, and assessments will be carried out.

Methodology

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information and knowledge transfer. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. You will also be encouraged to raise your own questions and to share in the development of the right answers using your own analysis and experiences.  Tests of multiple-choice type will be made available on daily basis to examine the effectiveness of delivering the course.
