The increasing competitiveness of the marine transportation industry has brought about demands that container terminal productivity be improved... In this course we will focus and discuss the prospects of using such measurements to estimate or compare the productivity of container terminals in ports. A sensible strategy for managing productivity would involve the linking of productivity and cost data, so that existing productivity constraints can be intelligently shifted from one area of operations to another.
This training course will cover the core departments of container terminal operations including gate, container yard, vessel, rail, maintenance and repair and the role of the management. Participants will learn what it takes to get a container into the terminal, the role of the stevedore, how to work a vessel, managing and planning double stack rail operations, efficient management and use of available real estate, and how to keep equipment safe and reliable. Participants will gain an understanding of how containerized cargo is received, stored, and distributed to meet the customers’ needs.
- Senior Professionals, Senior Officials, Managers and Supervisors with focus on different roles around Ports, Container Terminals, ICD's, Freight Stations and related policy.
- Senior workers in Supply Chain & Logistics Management
- Freight Forwarders, 3PL
