In the quest for hydrocarbon energy resources, the challenges posed by the uncertainties of explorations, development, technical, geographical and economic viability are ever-moreincreasing. All the more reason why the importance of selecting, operating and maintaining an offshore facility must be emphasized. Having well-functioning Onshore and Offshore facilities could mean the difference between profitability and financial demise for any operator. The management of an offshore facility should encompass the complete life cycle consideration of facility, starting from the concept selection to the final decommissioning. How do we ensure safe and cost-effective production facilities against all odds in the 21st century? What would be the holistic approach to balance all the factors to be considered and how far can technology be exploited; marginal fields developments, Arctic, unorthodox locations and finally when do we decide on decommissioning and ensuring every expectation will come to the finish line together
